Steamboat is a mountain range situated in Routt National Forest Park, the footpaths of which cover more than 1,200 hectares. The longest slope in Steamboat ski resort, called "Why not”, is 4.8 km long! And, thanks to the arid climate, Steamboat Resort enjoys annual snowfall of 859 cm, the quality of which is such that it is referred to as “Champagne powder”. Steamboat also has 1,118 metres of altitude difference and the resort plays host to the world famous Superpipe Maverick.
