Samoëns is a winter sports resort located in Haute-Savoie, in the Grand Massif. The village of Samoëns is linked to the large Grand Massif alpine ski area. This area has 265 km of slopes and is connected to 4 other resorts: Morillon, Les Carroz, Sixt Fer à Cheval and Flaine.
A cable car known as the Grand Massif Express gives visitors quick access to the ski area from Samoëns, where they can enjoy the ski runs and panoramic views on offer there.
The Grand Massif ski area has some exceptional spots such as the blue “Piste des Cascades” run, which provides the 14-km link between Flaine and Sixt Fer à Cheval, as well as the Marvel run for beginners, consisting of a 5-km route through the heart of a centuries-old forest.
There’s also the Combe de Gers, which takes skiers over the pristine snow of its vertiginous incline, with an elevation difference of 800 m.
The geographical location of the ski area makes for snow of an excellent quality. More than 80% of the runs are north-facing, so the snow is very well preserved.
