Ischgl, a skiing hotspot in Tyrol

Since it opened in the 1960s, Ischgl hasn’t stopped expanding, becoming one of the most highly rated winter sports resorts in Europe. Skiing is just one of the many activities on offer here.

A top-end resort

With 490 snow cannons, around 40 ski lifts and over 230 km of runs, most of which are red, Ischgl has one of the largest ski areas in the Alps. Its location at altitudes ranging from 1378 m to 2873 m means it has exceptional snow cover from the end of November until the start of May. The resort is modernised every year and in 2017 was equipped with a snowpark, used by freeriding pros and beginners alike. You’ll find the right equipment for this type of sport in the resort’s numerous ski hire outlets.
