Ski hire Grimentz

Grimentz, a place of honour for skiing

Perched at an altitude of 1,570 m in the Valaisan Alps (Switzerland), Grimentz is a small pearl of authenticity in the tradition of picturesque mountain villages. An enchanting setting for a successful ski holiday.

In winter, the ski resort awaits holidaymakers from December to April, and opens its slopes to all levels of skiers, snowboarders and telemark skiers. Skiing conditions are generally good thanks to a ski area that extends up to 3,000 m in altitude and offers a panoramic view of the Val d'Anniviers and the Rhône Valley. Snow is guaranteed by the village's own snow cannons up to an altitude of 2,500 m. Those who do not wish to stay on the 50 km of pistes in the resort can take advantage of the common pass for all the resorts in the valley, the SMS (Ski Montagne Soleil) pass, and discover the 220 km of pistes (divided into 28 slopes) of the Val d'Anniviers and its four ski areas: Saint-Luc/Chandolin, Grimentz, Zinal and Vercorin. Whether they are passionate about skating or classic cross-country skiing, Nordic ski enthusiasts will also find in Grimentz a playground for all levels with marked trails, some of which are lit at night.

Grimentz, the pearl of the Valais

Grimentz has been voted one of the most beautiful villages in Switzerland. So when it puts on its white coat, the magic is total. Your walks through the narrow streets with their centuries-old houses will allow you to completely disconnect in this place as if out of time. Afterwards, you can look up and see some of the highest peaks in the Alps. The Weisshorn (4,506 m), the Matterhorn (4,478 m), the Dent Blanche (4,357 m), the Bishorn (4,153 m), the Zinalrothorn (4,221 m) and the Obergabelhorn (4,063 m) surround this unique village with their noble presence.

Activities for the whole family

Grimentz also has all the necessary facilities to make your skiing holiday unforgettable. Once the slopes are closed, the whole family can enjoy the natural ice rink where you can try your hand at curling, as well as the snow garden. Lovers of authenticity and a friendly atmosphere should also appreciate this resort which offers local gastronomic specialities in its restaurants. If you are of an adventurous nature, head for the Mayoux waterfall for an initiation to glacier climbing in a magnificent setting.

Good to know: a land to discover

There are five community stables in the Val d'Anniviers, and Grimentz opens its own every Wednesday evening in winter. This is an opportunity for the whole family to discover the Hérens breed of cow and the traditions surrounding these impressive beasts.
