Only a few kilometres as the crow flies from the Vanoise National Park, and at the heart of the Valmeinier - Valloire slopes made of 150km of runs, the Valmeinier resort is the most recently developed resort in the Maurienne. It enjoys excellent snow and receives a remarkable amount of sunshine. At 1500 metres, with direct access to the slopes, Valmeinier is a village resort that has managed to retain its authenticity, with its narrow cobbled streets and stone houses. Valmeinier also has a resort higher up at 1800m. Valmeinier 1800 was designed to be integrated into the surrounding landscape, offering warmth and practicality for skiers and snowboarders. Getting around the resort is easy as there is a free shuttle bus that links Valmeinier 1500 to Vammeinier 1800.
