Located 8 km north of Chamonix, the resort of Argentière sits at an elevation of 1,250 m, right at the mouth of the glacier that shares its name. Featuring characteristically typical and charming architecture, a Baroque church and a 19th century chapel, the local Savoie charm is preserved in Argentière. Indeed, only a few modern buildings erected in the resort centre over the years look out of place.
