As you enter the Mont Blanc valley, you can take part in a variation of winter sports in the resort of Les Hoches. The resort is overlooked by the Aiguille du Gouter glacier that provides skiers with a fantastic view of the mountain peaks. Due to its prime location set in the Mont Blanc valley, the resort holds several annual ski events such as, the Alpine World Cup, the kids contest and the Verte à l'Envers. Les Hoches is linked to a domain with 700km of slopes thanks to the Mont Blanc ski pass, which provides access to all Mont Blanc resorts such as Chamonix, Les Contamines & Megève. Les Hoches is an excellent resort for the perfect holiday destination. There are plenty of activities on offer such as cross country & alpine skiing, Joering skiing, skicross, snowboarding, telemarking and freestyling in the Airpark Bellevue snowpark. Within this mid altitude resort you will be spoilt for choice with regards to sporting activity. It has been known for skiers to come across the French ski team who regularly carry out intense training here. By taking the Du rail au Cable cable car, you can discover the opposite side of Les Hoches. Here you can participate in a history tour about lift mechanics and visit the ruins of the Saint Michel castle which dates back from the XVI th century, together with baroque churches , chapels and traditional bread ovens & oratories. There is plenty to see for nature lovers such as the Merlet park, Diosaz gorges and the natural Carlaveyron reserve.
