Sun Valley ski resort was built in 1935 and was opened to the public in 1936.
Since its origins, the resort has become a centre for many leading figures in today's world. For example, Ernest Hemingway finished his novel “For whom the bell tolls” there in Autumn 1939. Lucille Ball, Marilyn Monroe, Tom Hanks, Bruce Willis, Warren Miller, and several members of the Kennedy family have connections with this famous ski resort.
