Ski hire Champéry
Champéry, your gateway to the Portes du Soleil
In the central Swiss Alps canton of Valais at an altitude of 1,055 m sits Champéry: an old mountain village at the foot of the Dents du Midi mountain where you can enjoy a typical ski holiday. Although Champéry is a small village in Val d'Illiez, it has everything you need for the perfect winter sports holiday. Indeed, with its 30 km of marked runs, this resort is your gateway to one of the world’s largest ski areas: Portes du Soleil which boasts 200 ski lifts serving 650 km of pistes. The Champéry-Planachaux cable car and the Gran Paradiso chairlift offer easy access to the ski area's 286 slopes, 10 snowparks, 210 km of pistes reserved for Nordic skiing and nearly 300 km of snowshoeing routes.
Accessible typical village with all the amenities you need
Just 90 minutes from Geneva, you’ll find all the necessary amenities for a great ski holiday. Local shops and services let you complete all your shopping on foot and enjoy the village’s bustling streets. For your accommodation, choose from a fine selection of hotels, individual chalets, apartments and resort-style complexes with all mod cons. Then you’re free to set out and explore the local traditions in a truly picture-postcard setting. Visit the bell foundry, learn how cheese is made, or venture to one of the farms in the surrounding area: all great excursion ideas for young and old to enjoy together.
Party in your resort
Once the pistes are closed for the day, it’s time for après-ski. Champéry offers an extensive list of activities: curling, fitness, ice-skating, indoor swimming, snowshoeing, sauna, mountain climbing, paragliding, snowkiting or trampolining: so many different ways to enjoy yourself in the mountains. In the evenings, Champéry comes to life with a friendly ambiance. There are several cafés, bars and mountain restaurants. Throughout the season, concerts, folk nights, exhibitions and ski and snowboard races are organised, so boredom is never an option. Party animals should head over to the resort nightclub where nights out last until the wee small hours. Champéry is also famous around the world as the host resort of some unmissable events, such as the Pass’Portes du Soleil mountain biking and the Giron des Musiques de la Vallée d’Illiez weekend of music.
Good to know: skiing under the stars
Twice a week, the pistes in Champéry stay open longer to let you experience night skiing. Catch any of three chairlifts and one ski lift up to the top of the resort where you can almost reach out and touch the summits.
