Santa Cristina is an Italian resort in the south of the Alps, nestled in the heart of the Dolomites. Similar to other resorts in this region, it enjoys generous amounts of sunshine and mild temperatures during much of the season. It is the smallest of the three resorts in the Val Gardena valley.

Located at 1,428 m altitude, the resort enjoys excellent snow coverage and it is also equipped with snow cannons to guarantee perfect conditions for a hassle-free holiday. From the resort, you can explore the beauty of the Dolomites as you roam the 175 km of pistes in the Val Gardena–Alpe di Siusi ski area, which is served by 87 lifts.  No matter what you are looking for, there is something for all ability levels in this terrain.

Famous for hosting an annual round of the Ski World Cup, another highlight of this resort is its several hundred kilometres of red runs. And if you still want more, swing over to the Dolomiti Superski terrain where you’ll find 1,200 km of marked pistes! Beyond Alpine skiing, Santa Cristina is also heaven for cross-country skiers because it belongs to Dolomiti Nordic Ski, the largest cross-country ski area in Europe. In all, there are 133 km of dedicated trails for cross-country enthusiasts to carve up.

Other activities you can try during your stay include ski touring and snowshoeing. As soon as you put your skis away for the day, head to the centre of the resort where you’ll discover organised events throughout the season, as well as bars and ski rental outlets. There is also an abundance of small typical restaurants in the resort where you can sample South Tyrol specialities from pasta with speck to apple strudel: a real treat!
