Morillon, the Grand Massif resort
Situated in the Giffre Valley, Morillon prides itself on being a welcoming and family-friendly resort with a slightly Canadian feel. The resort is nestled between the Tarentaise Valley and the Maurienne Valley. Composed of two parts, the village at an altitude of 700 m and the resort at 1100 m, it boasts typical chalets and a stunning lake and river, providing its visitors with a complete change of scenery.

Morillon is part of the Grand Massif ski area, which comprises four other resorts that are all connected to one another: Flaine, Les Carroz, Samoëns and Sixt-Fer-à-Cheval. With no fewer than 145 runs over 265 km (22 greens, 61 blues, 49 reds and 13 blacks), this area is an open-air playground for seasoned skiers and mountain lovers. To enjoy these runs hassle-free, don’t forget to kit yourself out with high-quality gear, which you can find locally in the many ski hire and retail outlets.
Good to know: a medallist's resort
Morillon is where 2006 Olympic downhill skiing champion Antoine Dénériaz discovered skiing by following his father, who was an instructor there and head of the resort’s skiing club.
