Situated on a sunny plateau at an altitude of 1800 m, in the heart of Haute-Savoie, Avoriaz awaits you in its idyllic setting. An entirely pedestrianised ski resort, its buildings are designed to blend in with the topography of the surrounding mountains, and are all accessible on skis.
While the Avoriaz ski area itself consists of 75 km of runs, it also forms part of the vast ski area of Les Portes du Soleil. The resort is therefore linked to 11 other French and Swiss resorts, by 650 km of runs, meaning you can take a different skiing route through the mountains every day.
Always at the forefront when it comes to winter sports, Avoriaz has kitted out its ski area with several freestyle zones, including snowparks and a half-pipe, to be enjoyed by the most daring of thrillseekers.
Paragliding, ice skating, ice diving and snow-biking are some alternatives for non-skiers. The well-being centres and pool give you the chance to relax for an afternoon or unwind after a day on the slopes.
Après-ski combined with numerous shops, restaurants, pubs and bars bring the resort to life, and make for buzzing and sociable evenings.
